Musique de chambre au Breakthroughs Film Festival.

"Octavia Films is proud to announce our first annual Breakthroughs Film Festival.

Breakthroughs will feature short films by young women filmmakers from all over Canada, and is the first Canadian festival to focus exclusively on emerging female artists working in the short film format.

This year it will be held on June 23, 2012 from 7:30-11:00 PM at The Projection Booth, 1035 Gerard Street East, Toronto’s newest rep house cinema in the trendy Leslieville neighbourhood.

In addition to an excellent array of short films by talented young directors there will also be a Q&A/panel discussion with the filmmakers.

We are also very pleased and honoured to announce our esteemed panel of judges for this year’s festival:

Ingrid Veninger, actress, director & producer (i am a good person/i am a bad person, MODRA).

Alexandra Anderson, documentary filmmaker & Chair of the School of Image Arts, Ryerson University.

Linda Barnard, film critic, The Toronto Star.
