Errance au 6ème Festival Ciné-court animé de Roanne

Mon court métrage animé Errance (2013) va enfin être présenté au France, au festival Ciné-court animé de Roanne, qui aura lieu du 23 au 29 mars 2015, dans la catégorie compétition expérimentale, le dimanche 29 mars!

Errance sera présenté demain soir (lundi) à 21h30 aux Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois, à la Cinémathèque québécoise!

Wandering won the Special Jury Award at the 10th Cinema of the Bayou Festival

There is no place better than Louisiana for a first award! Wandering (Errance) won the Special Jury Award! Look, here's the fish! I am part of the "fish gang" now!

The animation and the sound broke hearts!

Cinema of the Bayou was the nicest festival I ever went. Warm and cheerful!

My trip was one of the most beautiful I never had. I met so much nice people in a few days... I never experienced that before. I danced on Cajun music, I drunk Bourbon, I ate Gumbo and Jumbalaya, and now I feel haunted by Louisiana. I guess I just have to come back, with or without an other film...!

Wandering (Errance) to Animated Dreams, take two

Wandering (Errance) has been selected to Animated Dreams 2014 Panorama Programme.
Animated Dreams 2014 takes place from 19th to 23rd November in Tallinn, Estonia.

The film was presented last year at the same festival in the Canadian Focus programme. It sounds like Estonia likes Wandering ;)

Wandering is selected by the London International Animation Festival and will be part of the international competition programme "Below the Surface", on October 28th 2014, at 9pm.

Errance en compétition au festival Krok / Wandering in competition at Krok Festival

Errance (2013) sera présenté en compétition au Festival International de Films d'Animation Krok (Russie & Ukraine), dans la catégorie Premier film professionnel. Le festival passera par Moscow, Tver, Myshkin, Uglich, et Yaroslavl du 29 septembre au 4 octobre 2014.

Errance au Breakthroughs Film Festival

Errance sera présenté au Breakthroughs Film Festival qui se tiendra à Toronto le 13 Juin 2014!

Brigitte Manolo parle d'Errance dans son article "Devoir de réanimation" dans le Voir

"[...] le troisième coup de cœur (le plus complet en fait) va à la projection d’Errance d’Éléonore Goldberg, spécialement pour un air fredonné et des bruitages épurés qui se fondent dans l’image afin que l’histoire se raconte d’elle-même. Au moment de sa douche, une jeune femme repense irrémédiablement aux générations familiales, événements et exils qui l’ont précédée et menée là. Situation de migration où l’on n’appartient plus nulle part, autant que la persistance de racines et de souvenirs indélébiles qui nous relient à notre passé et aux trajectoires de proches disparus. Plus artistique et abstrait dans sa construction, suggestif tout en laissant la lecture ouverte, ce court invite effectivement à une errance dans la mémoire, un jour douloureuse et maintenant apaisée. Tout passe par une émotion palpable et sourde qui dit beaucoup en silence. En vrac on chantonne l’air de la fillette du Labyrinthe de Pan de Guillermo del Toro, des scènes de L’histoire de l’amour de Nicole Krauss ressurgissent, ainsi que plusieurs personnages qui ont tout quitté et ne sont plus accompagnés que d’une précieuse valise renfermant leur passé. Déjà remarqué à la conception sonore du film D’Aléas de Mathieu Tremblay (mention honorable au TIFF 2011), Olivier Girouard démontre une nouvelle fois une belle aisance à mettre en valeur ces univers de la pensée relevant du sensible et du symbolique, en composant finement avec l’impression sensorielle (aussi bien visuelle et musicale que caressante). Magnifique scène attestant une belle collaboration son et image dans ces poissons s’envolant en mitrailleurs sifflants."

Errance / Wandering selected at the Interfilm 29th International Short Film Festival in Berlin, for the International Competition, from November 12 to 17! Programme "Animation 2 In Search Of".

Errance / Wandering selected at the Sommets du cinéma d'animation!

Errance a été retenu en compétition internationale aux Sommets du cinéma d'animation, Festival international de Montréal et de Québec! Le film sera présenté deux fois lors des Sommets à Québec (21 au 24 novembre), et deux fois à Montréal (27 novembre au 1er décembre).

Wandering has been selected for the International Competition at the Sommets du cinéma d'animation in Montreal and Quebec! The film will be screened twice during the Sommets in Quebec (November 21 to 24) and twice in Montreal (November 27 to December 1).

Errance / Wandering in World Premiere at the Ottawa International Animation Festival, in the Canadian Showcase!

Wandering will be screened in World Premiere at the OIAF (Ottawa International Animation Festival) in September, in the Canadian Showcase.

Errance est né! Wandering is born!

Errance (Wandering) est né! Cette semaine nous avons pu terminer la post-production, avec l'ACIC (ONF). 

Je tiens à remercier l'ONF pour son soutien à travers l'ACIC (programme d'Aide au cinéma indépendant), le MAI (Montréal, Arts Interculturels), ainsi que tous ceux qui ont soutenu Errance, soit en participant à la levée de fond, soit en achetant des dessins du film, ainsi que ceux qui nous apportèrent leur soutient moral.

La composition musicale et le design sonore ont été réalisés par Olivier Girouard. Une belle collaboration!

Avec les musiciens Pierre-Yves Martel (viole de gambe) et Sarah Kraemer (voix). Shira Avni fut la conseillère à l'animation et au montage. Une aide précieuse et grandement appréciée.

Wandering is born! This week, we did the post-production with the ACIC (NFB). 

I wish to thank the NFB for its support through the program ACIC (Aide au cinéma indépendant), the MAI (Montréal, Arts Interculturels), and all the people that supported Wandering either in participating in the fundraiser, or buying drawings of the film, and those who brought moral support.

Music compostion and sound design were conceived by  Olivier Girouard. Such a nice collaboration!

With the musicians Pierre-Yves Martel (viol) and Sarah Kraemer (vocal). Shira Avni has been the advisor with the animation and the editing. A precious and greatly appreciated support.
